The race was delayed somewhat after the first few hits following what was mercifully the only bad bash of the day, but once the delay was cleared, Sonny Sherwood drove his way to victory, though this wasn't universally popular with the audience, especially following a staunch effort by veteran continental traveller, Jan Verhoeven, to stop all rivals. His failure to restart in the regulation time limit was given as the reason for the result, though the Hunter was awarded the last car award for his efforts, Justin Woolner grabbing the Best Wrecker award while the audience waited for the fireworks.
